# 天權 (Tiānquán / The Authority)

The star of power and command. Confers leadership, ambition and the ability to take charge — a natural authority that rises through responsibility, but must guard against being domineering.

**General tendency:** brings authority and leadership — able to take charge and carry responsibility.

## On each pillar 四柱

The same palm star reads differently depending on which pillar it lands on — the Year pillar speaks of the foundation one is born with, the Hour pillar of children and the years at the far end of life.

### 年柱 Year Pillar — foundation, ancestry & innate nature

Authority at the root: active, ambitious and willing to shoulder responsibility, suited to leading. Power and duty recur through life — temper firmness with flexibility.

年柱坐天權，根基帶權柄之氣，個性主動、有擔當與企圖心，適合領導與掌事。一生多有掌權、負責的際遇，宜剛柔並濟，勿過於強勢。

### 月柱 Month Pillar — parents, youth & early career

Strict parenting or a household of rules; responsibility arrives young and a career starts fast, often with early command. Learn to win people over rather than press them — that is what makes authority hold.

月柱坐天權，父母管教較嚴或家中規矩重，少年即被賦予責任，事業起步快、易早掌事。宜學會服眾而非壓人，權柄才坐得穩。

### 日柱 Day Pillar — the self, marriage & mid-life

A strong-minded self who carries weight, matched with a spouse who is nobody’s follower — the marriage needs its lines of authority drawn plainly. Mid-life is the season of command; do not run the home like a company.

日柱坐天權，自身主見強、能扛事，配偶亦非柔順之輩，婚姻中主導權需分明。中年正是掌權之時，宜剛柔並濟、勿把家當公司管。

### 時柱 Hour Pillar — children, old age & later fortune

Strong-willed children who do well but will not be managed; later years still hold real power and little rest. Let go in time and let the next generation carry it.

時柱坐天權，子女個性強、有出息但不易管束，晚年仍握實權、閒不下來。宜適時放手，讓下一代自己承擔。
