# 天刃 (Tiānrèn / The Blade)

The star of the blade. Sharp, forceful and brave, with strong drive and a competitive edge — powerful in action and in crisis, but it must temper impulsiveness and conflict.

## On each pillar 四柱

The same palm star reads differently depending on which pillar it lands on — the Year pillar speaks of the foundation one is born with, the Hour pillar of children and the years at the far end of life.

### 年柱 Year Pillar — foundation, ancestry & innate nature

The blade at the root: bold, decisive and unwilling to lose, ready to fight for what it wants. Suits martial, technical or competitive work — but impulsiveness and quarrels must be reined in.

年柱坐天刃，根基剛烈，個性果敢、衝勁十足、不服輸，遇事敢拼。適合武職、技術或競爭性行業；但須收斂躁進與口角，剛中帶柔方能長久。

Forceful parenting or a household with a hard edge; a competitive, combative youth. Channel it early into sport, craft or discipline so the sharpness has somewhere to go.

月柱坐天刃，父母管教剛猛或家中氣氛剛強，少年即好勝敢衝、易與人爭。宜及早導入運動、技術或紀律，鋒芒有處可去。

### 日柱 Day Pillar — the self, marriage & mid-life

A hard, decisive self and a spouse of equal steel — a marriage that must not be fought head-on. Mid-life is the sprint; win it on ability rather than on the last word.

日柱坐天刃，自身剛烈果決，配偶亦非軟性子，婚姻忌硬碰硬。中年是衝刺期，宜以本事服人、少逞口舌之快。

### 時柱 Hour Pillar — children, old age & later fortune

Headstrong children with minds of their own; an old age still full of energy and short on rest. Bank the temper, mind injury and accident, and take up something quieter.

時柱坐天刃，子女性剛難馴、各有主張，晚年仍精力旺盛、閒不住。宜收斂脾氣、注意血光與意外，老來宜靜功。
