The Twelve Palaces · 十二宮

A Zi Wei Dou Shu chart divides life into twelve palaces, each tied to an earthly branch and read through the stars that fall in it. The Life palace is the anchor; the palace opposite a given one (its 對宮) always influences it.

命宮 (Life Palace) — self, character
兄弟宮 (Siblings Palace) — siblings, peers
夫妻宮 (Spouse Palace) — marriage, partner
子女宮 (Children Palace) — children, creativity
財帛宮 (Wealth Palace) — money, income
疾厄宮 (Health Palace) — health, body
遷移宮 (Travel Palace) — movement, opportunity
交友宮 (Friends Palace) — friends, colleagues
官祿宮 (Career Palace) — career, status
田宅宮 (Property Palace) — property, home
福德宮 (Fortune Palace) — wellbeing, spirit
父母宮 (Parents Palace) — parents, elders
